Creating a framework in Enterprise Architect requires extensive modeling of the metamodel numerous diagrams for the toolboxes and diagram types. Once each of the diagrams have been created, you have to run a profiling tool against them to output an XML file to be used in the final step of creating the MDG XML file to be used by Enterprise Architect.

Model Guardian's user interface shows you the metamodel hiearchy as you develop. Creating the toolboxes and diagram types is a simple matter of picking elements from list boxes.

Actual user statements have indicated that a framework that would have taken approximately 2 weeks using Enterprise Architect's native method took only 2 hours to create in Model Guardian. And that is just the beginning. The framework versioning, archival and retrieval, and model synchronization makes the over all effort an even smaller fraction of what it takes with Enterprise Architect.
